About This Quote

A tattoo is a true poetic creation, and is always more than meets the eye. As a tattoo is grounded on living skin, so its essence emotes a poignancy unique to the mortal human condition. When I hear this quote, I can’t help but think of all of the people who have gotten tattoos during their lifetime. There are so many people who have gotten tattoos without fully understanding what they mean.

Maybe it’s the permanence of the ink that upsets them, or maybe it’s something else altogether. Regardless, they end up regretting it because they don’t love the person that got them inked or maybe because they took too long to realize that their ex-boyfriend made the tattoo on them. Some people are passionate about remembering certain events, while others are simply bored and want to make an impression.

The fact of the matter is that there are no good or bad reasons for getting a tattoo, as long as one fully understands what they are getting done.
